Novo began in 1980 as Church Resources Ministries and has followed the Spirit’s leading across diverse contexts around the world, developing clarity around how gospel movements take root and multiply. That conviction now shapes our North Star: to see a gospel movement emerge in every context where God sends us.
At our core, Novo exists to spark and sustain movements of the gospel among the nations. We believe this happens as ordinary people respond to the voice of God and step into their role in his mission.
If we take seriously the scope of the Great Commission, the question becomes: what will it take? Jesus points us to the answer in Luke 10:2—the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. So we pray for more workers, and we build for it. Because gospel movements only multiply when believers listen to God and obey.
Novo’s unique contribution is raising up workers who are:
Awakened by the Holy Spirit to hear God’s voice, live from their identity in Christ, and walk in spiritual authority
Equipped with simple, reproducible tools to multiply disciples, leaders, and new gatherings of Jesus-followers, and
Mobilized with the simple structures and support to stay healthy and faithfully multiply over the long haul
We equip ordinary people in the West and around the world, so the good news takes root, disciples multiply, communities are transformed, and gospel movements emerge. We need ordinary people like those in Act 4:13:
Everyday Disciple-Makers making disciples in their communities
Vocational Missionaries ministering in contexts both nearby and around the world
National Leaders equipped and coached to minister in their own contexts
Novo means “to make new,” because we’ve seen it again and again—when people encounter Jesus, everything changes. Disciples become disciple-makers, new gatherings form and multiply, and worship breaks out—until all things are made new.
