On March 7, 2025, we hosted our very first “Following Jesus for Life” workshop—and it was an encouraging and impactful event.
Our heart behind the workshop was simple: to equip everyday believers with practical tools to follow Jesus more deeply and to confidently help others do the same. Throughout our time together, we focused on what it really means to live on mission with Him by exploring the following key questions:
• Why do we make disciples?
• Who do we go to?
• What do we say?
• When will I go?
With over 20 participants representing multiple churches across the Lower Mainland, the room was filled with a shared hunger to grow and take action. The workshop was intentionally hands-on, giving participants simple, reproducible tools to build daily disciple-making habits—like SOAPS Bible reading, sharing a 30-second testimony, and praying intentionally for a “list of 100.”
What stood out most wasn’t just what was taught—but what God was doing in people’s hearts. Participants left not only encouraged, but equipped and activated.
One person shared: “I Enjoyed the practical teaching tools and especially our table discussions.”
Another when asked about their biggest takeaway: “How God’s love is the foundation for our love and obedience—and how God is ultimately the one in charge of disciple-making.”
Moments like these remind us that real transformation happens when truth meets practice—and when people step into God’s mission together.
We’re excited to host this workshop several times throughout the year and to see even more people equipped to live this out. We’d love for you and your church community to join us at the next one!
Our thanks goes out to Emmanuel Christian Community in Richmond for hosting this event and being such a wonderful blessing. If your church would like to host this workshop please reach out to john.hall@novocanada.org. We’re looking for a host for June.
